• Check your Browser Compatibility - this service isn't free, but it's very handy. It allows you to see what your web creations look like on other platforms and other browsers without having to install or run them yourself.



• WS_Ftp File Transfer - SOFTWARE
  My choice for file transfer software, but it's no longer free. WS_FTP Pro is $54.95, Home is $34.95. Download 30-day trial. (Alternatively, see if you can find an older, non-expiring version using OldVersion.com below.)



• CoffeeCup Free Site Mapper - SOFTWARE - creates a site map automatically. Great for organizing your files and your website.



• Spybot - SOFTWARE
  Great little freeware/shareware program for detecting and ridding your computer of spyware. Covers about 90% of the most common viruses.



• Old Version.com
  This site helps you find older versions of software. It's true, newer is not always better. And sometimes the manufacturer sites abandon their older versions. This site is a little slice of gold.



• URL Trends - View trend reports of your current and previous Google PageRank, Alexa Rank and incoming links for your website.



• Trendmapper - Add a phrase or keyword for this online program to track. See the results over a period of time.



• Internet Wayback Machine - View previous versions of any website, going back years.



• Netcraft - Another interesting online service that returns any site's operating system, as well as other interesting tidbits.
